Location: Red Bluff CA Onsite
Schedule: Full-time

Position Overview

We are seeking a Staff Accountant with strong general ledger month-end close and financial reporting experience. This role will independently manage assigned accounting functions resolve discrepancies and help improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own assigned month-end quarter-end and year-end close activities.

  • Prepare and review journal entries accruals prepayments and adjustments.

  • Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding items.

  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting accounting schedules.

  • Prepare financial reports and analyze account activity and budget-to-actual variances.

  • Review AP and AR transactions for proper coding and completeness.

  • Support budgeting forecasting and cash management.

  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor requests.

  • Maintain internal controls and support SOX compliance where applicable.

  • Improve accounting workflows and reporting processes.

  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting questions.

Qualifications

  • Four or more years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Strong experience independently handling general ledger accounting reconciliations and month-end close.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statements.

  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and lookup functions.

  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.

  • Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.

  • Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Multi-entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations.

  • Audit support and documented internal controls.

  • SOX compliance and accounting process improvements.
