As the Protective Force Ordnance/Armory Senior Specialist you will be responsible for comprehensive management of the Explosive Ordnance (EO) Program/Armory at the Y-12 and ORNL sites. Oversee EO program and armory operations including handling transporting inspecting and storing explosive ordnance and maintaining a diverse arsenal of DOE/NNSA weapons in strict compliance with federal laws and DOE directives. Your duties include developing evaluation criteria for new weapons managing inventories and ensuring operational readiness and safety of all ordinance/armory and protective force weaponry. Collaboration across security departments and with external organizations is essential as is providing compliance information to auditors and participating in the development of security objectives and policies. You will analyze and interpret complex information from federal laws DOE orders technical manuals and safety regulations to ensure compliance and readiness. The role requires you to plan and carry out work independently resolve most conflicts integrate and coordinate the work of others and interpret policy in terms of established objectives. You will keep your supervisor informed about progress controversial matters or developing security conditions with far-reaching implications and prepare compliance reports and readiness forecasts for review regarding feasibility compatibility and effectiveness.

- Bachelors degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
- OR 12 or more years of relevant education training and/or progressive experience
- Knowledge of applicable federal laws and DOE orders/directives (DOE O 470.4B & DOE O 473.2A) related to Protective Force operations and explosive ordnance management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of explosive ordnance including functional descriptions safety precautions and procedures for rendering safe and disposal.
- Familiarity with DOE-STD(Explosives Safety) and 49 CFR Parts 100-185.
- Skill in maintaining DOE NNSA and Y-12 weapons assisting in evaluation criteria for new systems and performing maintenance in compliance with protective force procedures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain factory armorer certifications NTC/DOE certification and a Class C commercial driver license with Hazardous Material (H) endorsement.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures for incidents involving unexploded ordnance (UXO).
