Sr Tech Facilities
Job Summary
The Facilities Senior Technician is responsible for the maintenance repair troubleshooting and optimization of building systems and facility infrastructure. This role serves as a technical lead for facility operations supporting the Facilities Manager in ensuring safe efficient and reliable operation of mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC and life safety systems. The Facilities Senior Technician coordinates maintenance activities assists with vendor management and provides guidance to technicians and contractors while maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance & Operations
Perform advanced troubleshooting repair and preventive maintenance (PMs) on facility equipment building structure roofing parking lot and building critical systems.
Maintain HVAC electrical plumbing mechanical A/V fire protection and life safety systems.
Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and facility performance metrics.
Respond to facility-related emergencies and equipment failures in a timely manner.
Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Ensure facility systems operate efficiently to minimize downtime and operating costs.
Construction work and renovation work.
HAZMAT work.
Some Travel.
Technical Leadership
Serve as a lead technician and subject matter expert for maintenance activities.
Provide guidance training and mentorship to Facilities Technicians and contractors.
Assist in prioritizing work orders and allocating maintenance resources.
Support the development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Coordinate and oversee third-party service providers contractors and vendors.
Verify quality and completion of contracted maintenance and repair work.
Assist with obtaining quotations and evaluating vendor performance.
Ensure contractors comply with company safety policies and procedures.
Safety & Compliance
Support compliance with OSHA environmental and local regulatory requirements.
Conduct safety inspections 6S CAPA and identify corrective actions.
Maintain documentation related to inspections permits certifications and maintenance records.
Participate in safety programs emergency response activities and business continuity planning.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Document repairs inspections preventive maintenance activities and equipment histories.
Assist with generating maintenance reports KPIs and facility performance metrics.
Support budgeting and capital improvement planning by identifying equipment replacement needs.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
7 years of facilities maintenance experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong experience troubleshooting commercial or industrial building systems.
Experience leading maintenance projects or serving as a senior-level technician preferred.
Experience with CMMS platforms and building automation systems.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of HVAC plumbing electrical mechanical and building automation systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
Proficiency in preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with OSHA standards building codes and safety regulations.
Must operate a forklift.
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
Certified Facility related credentials
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders work at heights and access confined spaces.
Ability to stand walk bend and work for extended periods.
Ability to respond to emergency calls outside normal work hours when required.
Ability to work weekends.
Ability to work during hurricanes storms natural disasters.
