Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design KLAs Global Products Group (GPG) which is responsible for creating all of KLAs metrology and inspection products is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist software engineers application development engineers and senior product technology process engineers. The Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) Division provides industry leading metrology solutions for worldwide semiconductor IC manufacturers. The FaST Division portfolio of metrology products includes hardware and software solutions for optical film thickness optical critical dimension (CD) composition and resistivity measurement systems. These products are essential for the IC manufacturers as they provide critical metrology capabilities for the development and implementation of their advanced IC processes. The FaST division is committed to support our customers to achieve performance entitlement of our solution and we effectively partner with our customers from their early research and development phase to the high volume in-line manufacturing implementation specific for their process needs. The division consists of a global team located in US Israel China and India.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Role Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team focused on the development and enhancement of Windows desktop applications used for spectral analysis optimization recipe development and measurement validation in semiconductor manufacturing metrology tools for yield improvement. This role involves close collaboration with algorithm and application engineers to deliver robust highperformance and userfriendly engineering software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design develop and maintain Windows desktop application features for spectral analysis troubleshooting and measurement validation used in semiconductor manufacturing metrology workflows.
  • Perform requirements analysis and design by working with stakeholders and domain experts to understand functional and nonfunctional needs.
  • Contribute to software design by producing clear design approaches for features components and workflows before implementation.
  • Implement interactive data visualization components including charts heat maps and data tables.
  • Collaborate with algorithms and application engineers to translate complex measurement workflows into intuitive and effective UI/UX.
  • Integrate frontend components with backend computation libraries.
  • Leverage AIassisted development tools (e.g. Claude GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development refactoring and code reviews.
  • Write clean maintainable and testable code with attention to performance and usability.
  • Debug and resolve software defects reported by internal users and customers.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and coding standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to scientific engineering or dataintensive software applications.
  • Background in semiconductor manufacturing metrology or process control systems (a plus not required).
  • Experience with or similar MVVM frameworks.
  • Familiarity with advanced charting and visualization libraries (e.g. LightningChart Syncfusion or equivalent).
  • Experience with Protobuf or other serialization or messaging frameworks.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) or work experience of 0 years Masters Level Degree or work experience of 2 years Bachelors Level Degree or work experience of 3 years.

  • Proficiency in C# Framework.
  • Experience with Windows Presentation Foundation desktop application development.
  • Working knowledge of C and native/managed interop.
  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming and multithreaded applications.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong problemsolving and debugging skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and collaboration abilities.

Base Pay Range: $136300.00 - $231700.00 Annually

Primary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA
