Sr. Robotics Mech Engineer, Velocity

As a Hardware Development Engineer within the Velocity team you will design develop and deliver mechanical components and systems for Amazons next generation of products. You will work with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into manufacturable designs that meet customer needs and business requirements.

Key job responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical design projects from concept through production ensuring designs meet functional requirements cost targets and manufacturing constraints
- Create 3D CAD models engineering drawings and specifications for mechanical components and assemblies
- Conduct engineering analyses including tolerance stack-ups Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Develop and execute test plans to validate mechanical designs against product requirements
- Collaborate with industrial designers electrical engineers and manufacturing partners to integrate mechanical designs with other subsystems.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during development and production phases
- Document design decisions test results and engineering changes
- Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes

- Experience in developing functional specifications design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent
- 8 years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with prototyping implementation and scaling

- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Masters degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
