Job Summary
CGI Federal is seeking a Senior Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead Agile Release Train (ART) execution facilitate SAFe ceremonies manage cross-team dependencies and ensure coordinated delivery across a major federal modernization program. The Senior RTE drives PI Planning manages program-level risks supports continuous improvement and partners with mission stakeholders engineering teams and leadership to ensure synchronized high-quality delivery in a secure environment.
Agile Release Train Leadership
Lead facilitate and optimize Agile Release Train (ART) ceremonies including PI Planning Scrum of Scrums ART syncs and system demos
Ensure alignment across multiple Scrum teams technical workstreams and integration points
Maintain ART cadence commitments and delivery outcomes
Execution Coordination & Dependency Management
Track cross-team dependencies and risks; coordinate resolution across engineering QA cloud security and data teams
Manage program boards feature flow and deliverable sequencing
Support readiness for major releases migration cycles and operational deployments
SAFe Governance & Continuous Improvement
Champion SAFe principles coaching teams on Agile and Lean practices
Lead Inspect & Adapt workshops root-cause analysis and improvement initiatives
Reinforce program-level flow metrics quality expectations and velocity targets
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Work closely with Product Management Solution Architects Release Management and Mission stakeholders
Provide visibility through dashboards reports risk summaries and ART status updates
Support preparation of leadership briefings decision points and modernization updates
Operational & Technical Support
Ensure alignment between program strategy and team execution
Support integration activities across cloud software development data migration and security operations
Coordinate with DevSecOps teams to maintain release readiness within CI/CD pipelines
Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance
U.S. Citizenship
Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience in Agile delivery program coordination or technical project leadership
3 years of direct Release Train Engineer experience in a SAFe environment
Strong understanding of Agile SAFe DevSecOps CI/CD and enterprise software delivery
Proven ability to manage cross-team dependencies risks and sequencing
Strong facilitation organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
SAFe RTE SPC or PO/PM certification
Experience supporting DOJ FBI Intelligence Community or other national-security modernization programs
Experience with AWS cloud environments microservices or distributed systems
Familiarity with Agile tooling (Jira Azure DevOps Rally VersionOne)
