Sr. R&D Equipment Design & Development Engineer

Here youll do more than join something youll add Technologies Organization is looking for an engineer to work on technology development of new display and optical module architectures for future Apple engineer will be working in a highly technical and fast paced team from Apples Module Technology Center (MTC). The candidate is expected to work smart and efficiently to design complex Ru0026D equipment rigorously validate systems enable novel processes communicate u0026 report technical learnings to cross-functional collaborators and management. The candidate is expected to have multi-disciplinary skillsets that can efficient work with cross-functional engineers in other domain areas such as optics process electrical control systems.

This is a hands-on interdisciplinary development role that will require versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment.

Hands-on design assembly validation and development of new Ru0026D equipmentnIncorporate versatile design solutions that also allow for robust and repeatable processesnAble to provide scalable solutions of key equipment features for technology transfer to partner teams and/or vendorsnHands-on testing and validation of critical sub-systems to systematically qualify the overall complex equipment system in development labsnClear communication of design intent and features empirical validation trials optimization and improvement opportunities documentation and reporting resultsnCollaboratively work with cross-functional teams to plan and align specific objectives to equipment design features and validation plan

B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with minimum of 10 years of industry experiencenExperience with mechanical design in CAD systems (Solidworks NX AutoCAD)nExperience in complex equipment system design assembly testing validation bring-upnExperience w/ various precision motion systems vacuum systems machine imaging u0026 sensing systems handling and/or gripping of miniaturized components pneumatics etc. nExperience with troubleshooting equipment issues by identifying the root cause and implementing an effective solution

PhD degree with 3 years or MS degree with 5 years of experience working on related field preferrednGood technical communication to clearly layout design features capability and challengesnFlexible and collaborative: willing to work in fast paced lab environment and open to incorporate various ideas and feedbacknAttentive to detail with demonstrated ability to work with teams to produce professional high-quality resultsnProven track record to bring novel equipment design from Ru0026D to scalable solutionsnAI/ML experience to augment or enhance mechanical design data analysis or training models nProgramming (such as Python C or Labview) for system controls GUI and algorithmsnWell organized and clear communication of in depth technical results and issues to executive management
