Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to serve as a Generator Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Electrical Fleet Team (EFT). This individual will apply advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices to fossil and nuclear power generation assets with primary responsibility for large turbine generator technical stewardship across a diverse multi-OEM fleet. This role requires independent technical judgment on complex engineering matters development and execution of fleet-wide generator strategies and direct communication with executive leadership on root cause analyses failure investigations and implementation plans. The position carries responsibility for interpreting organizing and coordinating assignments with significant impact on fleet reliability and asset performance. Travel is required on an as-needed basis primarily in support of planned outages field investigations and vendor shop oversight. This role also requires 24/7 phone availability for site technical support. Key Responsibilities Technical Expertise and Leadership Engineering and Project Execution Vendor and Supplier Management Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics Technical Scope The EFT Generator SME will maintain technical ownership across the following systems on three-phase fossil and nuclear turbine generators up to 1100 MW: Standards & Technical Frameworks Candidates should demonstrate working knowledge of applicable standards including IEEEANSI/EASA AR100 EPRI Generator Maintenance Guidelines and NFPA 70. The Ideal Candidate Would Have the Following:

- Plans and develops engineering projects concerned with unique or controversial complexities which have important impact on major company programs
- Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individuals field
- Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelors - Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
