Job Summary
Were seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who will support high-impact work involving HVAC energy systems decarbonization and building performance while collaborating with experienced engineers and project stakeholders. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to projects that improve building efficiency resiliency and long-term performance.
Lead the development of technically sound mechanical engineering solutions for building and energy-focused projects applying advanced engineering judgment to evaluate system approaches and deliver practical designs that align with project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop hydronic district energy geothermal and other building mechanical system designs for new construction renovations and infrastructure projects.
- Perform HVAC system and mechanical design calculations field investigations and existing-conditions documentation to support engineering decisions.
- Evaluate design options and cost-benefit considerations to identify practical approaches for energy efficiency system performance and project objectives.
- Prepare and review construction documentation including drawings specifications and technical deliverables.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with project teams while ensuring alignment with applicable building codes standards and utility requirements.
Qualifications
- 810 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience in building engineering energy infrastructure or a related discipline.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Active New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience supporting decarbonization and electrification projects and energy-focused building initiatives.
- Knowledge of building energy analysis and energy performance evaluation.
- Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical design and documentation.
- Strong understanding of applicable mechanical codes industry standards and utility requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple technical assignments communicate engineering recommendations and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
