Sr Mechanical Engineer

Design Hire is seeking a Sr Mechanical Engineer. This position will focus on the design and development of HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial institutional and other building projects.

The ideal candidate will have 10 years of mechanical engineering experience within an MEP consulting environment strong proficiency in Revit and the ability to independently manage mechanical designs while providing technical guidance to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems for new construction renovations and building improvement projects.
  
• Develop engineering calculations equipment selections system layouts specifications and construction documents using Revit and other design tools.
  
• Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical structural architectural and other engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
  
• Provide technical oversight review engineering drawings mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards.
  
• Support project management client coordination field investigations construction administration and overall project delivery.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
  
• 10 years of mechanical engineering experience preferably within an MEP or architectural/engineering consulting firm.
  
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or actively pursuing licensure with the ability to obtain it in the near future.
  
• Strong proficiency in Revit for mechanical building systems design.
  
• Extensive experience designing HVAC systems for commercial institutional or similar building projects.
  
• Experience with plumbing and fire protection systems design and coordination.
  
• Strong understanding of mechanical building codes engineering calculations equipment sizing and construction documentation.
  
• Excellent communication technical leadership and project coordination skills.
