Sr Electrical Hardware Development Engineer, Amazon Prime Air

Prime Air is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and develop electronic hardware and related Avionic systems and architecture for Prime Air Drones. This includes Avionic compute and Avionics distributed systems this role you will be working with our Seattle based team to help to deploy new hardware and Avionics architecture systems for Prime Air Drones. You will work with internal and external vendors to support hardware development manufacturing and test.

Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazons ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will help the team in the following ways:
-Architecture and Hardware Designs develops Avionic compute and distributed system hardware (air data probes lidar radar gnss antennas)
-Design and test other analog/digital devices components such as navigation hardware satellite communication air data probes DC-DC converts and protection circuitry.
-Perform electrical analyses circuit simulation components sizing and selection create electrical schematics and PCB layouts.
-Support engineering trades estimates and interact with suppliers/partners on critical components and develop hardware from concept to mass production.
-Support developing hardware and component level requirements/specifications.
-Increase the engineering rigor behind designs verification and documentation.
-Perform prototype hardware and systems in labs.
-Perform formal verification testing including DO-160 and DO-254

- Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability
- Experience in motherboard design PCB design including schematic capture stackup and circuit board layout
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent
- 6 years of hardware design and validation of components subsystems and systems experience
- 6 years of electrical engineering work experience in Consumer Electronics Power Electronics Robotics Aerospace Automotive and/or Communications fields or combination thereof.

- Masters degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience with the project management of technical projects
- Experience collaborating with the ECAD/physical board designer and able to review PCB designs with Allegro CAM350 or equivalent
- 5 years of developing electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical (2010 or newer) experience
- 5 years of hardware development test lab space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience
- Experience in new hardware product development

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
