Position Overview
Lead the electrical and controls development of automated material handling systems. This role covers concept development controls architecture programming prototyping testing and product launch. The engineer will also provide technical leadership to junior team members and support customer-facing projects.
- Develop control concepts and automation solutions based on customer and market requirements.
- Design electrical control systems panel layouts schematics and equipment sequences.
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC HMI and SCADA applications.
- Create prototypes and conduct testing validation and field commissioning.
- Support products through design manufacturing installation and customer deployment.
- Troubleshoot field issues perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Establish project requirements schedules estimates and technical documentation.
- Apply machine safety standards electrical codes risk assessments and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with mechanical electrical software manufacturing and project teams.
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to less-experienced engineers.
- Travel throughout the U.S. and North America typically up to 40%.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Controls Engineering or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
- 6 years of industrial controls or automation experience.
- Background with material handling conveyor/sortation systems robotics or automated equipment.
- Strong Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC experience.
- Experience with HMI SCADA industrial networks and automation systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical EPLAN or comparable electrical design software.
- Understanding of machine safety electrical standards and controls risk assessment.
- Experience taking automation products from concept through prototype testing and production.
- Strong troubleshooting communication organization and project leadership skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaborating across engineering disciplines.
