Position Overview:
HealthSource Saginaw is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist for our Speech-Language Pathology Services who is passionate about the work they do and who enjoy working in a fast paced patient centered environment. Compensation: Starting at $75000 annually
Casual Speech Language Pathologists are eligible to earn an hourly rate of $53/hour.
Placement within the postings range is based on factors such as education experience licensure training and other job-related considerations.
What Youll Do:
The Speech Language Pathologist will perform the full range of assignments for patients including but not limited to:
- Diagnose speech swallowing language and cognitive deficits selecting from a wide battery of tests that are appropriate for the patient and provide a differential diagnosis of disorders
- Gather medical history of the patient from a variety of sources and write diagnostic reports stating professional opinion for diagnosis recommendations and plan of care
- Design therapy program and establish realistic functional goals
- Provide therapy concentrating on compensation strategies for injury training in the use of non-verbal communication systems or retraining to gain lost skills
- Document patients status in the medical record meeting insurance and documentation requirements
- Educate patient and significant others regarding the identified speech language swallowing or cognitive disorder and effects upon patient function
- Schedule appointments for optimal productivity and revenue production
- Develop appropriate home programs for patients or assist coordination of care in programming elsewhere
- Interaction with appropriate internal and external parties or any other professionals involved in ongoing patient care
- Provide in-service education to HealthSource staff and department staff as appropriate
- Serve as representative for SLP Department on various committees
- Participate in special projects to enhance professional growth
- Respond accordingly to various internal Codes and Drills
- Follow organizational work rules and personnel policies
What Were Looking For:
REQUIRED:
- Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) with proof of continuing education to maintain certification and enhance professional expertise.
- Current State of Michigan SLP Licensure.
- Willing to consider Clinical Fellowship Year experience with State of Michigan Educational Limited License required.
- CPR certified/capability to be certified.
PREFERRED:
- 1-3 years of clinical/medical experience.
