Job Summary

Adelphi is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide full-time on-site services at a facility in Cameron County Texas. The ideal candidate will serve as the facilitys subject matter expert in speech language cognitive-communication swallowing and related disorders while providing therapeutic rehabilitation services to individuals with communication dysphagia social-pragmatic and cognitive challenges.

Requirements
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related communicative sciences and disorders field
Current and unrestricted Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license through TDLR
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
Current CPR/BLS certification if required by the facility
Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality
Willingness to work on-site with individuals who may have dual diagnoses
Ability to comply with facility and agency policies
Compliance with applicable facility and agency health and immunization requirements
Successful completion of required drug screening fingerprinting and background checks
Completion of all required facility and staffing agency training

Responsibilities
Serve as the facilitys recognized subject matter expert on speech language & swallowing disorders.
Provide rehabilitation services for speech and communication deficits.
Provide services for dysphagia social-pragmatic delays and cognitive difficulties.
Assess and diagnose speech language and cognitive-communication abilities.
Evaluate related oral pharyngeal and esophageal functioning.
Identify applicable impairments through diagnostic evaluations and assessments.
Complete accurate quality documentation in the electronic health record.
Develop implement and oversee therapeutic habilitative and rehabilitative programs.
Provide clinical speech-language pathology services to facility residents.
Collaborate with departments allied health professionals interdisciplinary teams & administration.
Attend assigned meetings to support information transfer and continuity of services.
Train instruct and supervise staff conducting habilitation and rehabilitation activities.
Ensure activities are performed according to treatment recommendations.
Monitor implemented programs and plans for compliance and effectiveness.
Support quality of care and resident well-being.
Provide feedback to staff implementing therapeutic programs.
Update revise or develop programs and treatment protocols based on outcomes.
Oversee and coordinate quality assurance and quality enhancement activities.
Support disaster response recovery and Continuity of Operations activation when required.
Work alternate shifts or locations when required during emergency operations.
