We are seeking a dependable and experienced Sous Chef to support daily kitchen operations and assist in leading the culinary team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure food is prepared according to established recipes and standards while maintaining proper inventory cleanliness organization and food safety.

The ideal candidate is professional disciplined hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen. This position requires someone who can provide direction to kitchen staff maintain high standards and step in wherever needed to keep service running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and service.
Supervise and provide direction to Line Cooks and other kitchen staff.
Ensure menu items are prepared consistently according to established recipes.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Maintain proper inventory levels and assist with product ordering and organization.
Monitor product usage and minimize food waste.
Ensure all food products are properly dated labeled covered stored and rotated.
Maintain a clean organized and sanitary kitchen.
Enforce food safety sanitation and kitchen safety procedures.
Monitor kitchen staff performance and ensure employees follow established procedures.
Assist with training and developing kitchen employees.
Help maintain proper staffing and station coverage during service.
Work hands-on on the line and assist with cooking when needed.
Ensure food quality consistency portioning and presentation meet established standards.
Communicate effectively with the Head Chef and kitchen team.
Help create a positive professional and team-oriented work environment.
Maintain composure and provide leadership during busy or high-pressure periods.
Follow established schedules kitchen procedures recipes and management direction.
Step into the Head Chefs responsibilities when necessary to maintain smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Sous Chef Lead Cook Kitchen Supervisor or similar culinary leadership role.
Strong cooking and kitchen operations experience.
Ability to supervise and direct kitchen staff.
Knowledge of food safety sanitation inventory and kitchen organization.
Ability to follow established recipes and maintain consistency.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Dependable disciplined and team-oriented.
Ability to take direction and provide direction to others.
Availability to work evenings weekends and holidays as required.

Schedule & Compensation

Operating schedule: 7 days per week approximately 11:30 AM-10:00 PM.
Sous Chef pay range: $24-$31 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Paid vacation increasing with tenure.
Performance-based bonus opportunities.
