Key Responsibilities:
- Administer maintain and optimize Solaris and Linux systems in enterprise production environments.
- Support and manage IBM Enterprise Storage platforms to ensure system availability and performance.
- Configure monitor and troubleshoot Veritas NetBackup solutions for backup and recovery operations.
- Perform system patching and package management using YUM repositories and established maintenance processes.
- Conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation activities using Nessus and related security tools.
- Implement and maintain secure system configurations in accordance with organizational security requirements.
- Monitor system health troubleshoot technical issues and implement performance improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering cybersecurity and operations teams to support infrastructure upgrades and incident response efforts.
- Maintain technical documentation standard operating procedures and compliance artifacts.
- Support system hardening audit readiness and security compliance initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience) plus 3 years of Solaris System Administration experience and 3 years of Linux System Administration experience (RHEL CentOS OLVM or similar).
- Active CompTIA Security certification.
- Experience supporting IBM Enterprise Storage Veritas NetBackup Nessus vulnerability management and Linux package management using YUM.
- Strong understanding of Linux security system hardening compliance practices troubleshooting and scripting with Bash Python or similar languages.
Desired Qualifications:
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or a comparable Linux administration certification.
- Experience supporting highly available enterprise environments with disaster recovery requirements.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible Puppet or similar technologies.
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments and modern systems management practices.
