The Apple Services Engineering Commerce - Accounts team powers the commerce platform behind all of Apples services including Apple Music Apple TV iCloud and subscriptions sold through the App Store. With over a billion active subscriptions driving Apples services growth and revenue were dedicated to delivering best-in-class commerce experiences while creating a robust platform for our services and developers to monetize their Commerce team provides the transactional engine for the App Store iTunes Music Store Apple Music iBook Store Apple TV and moreoperating the highest volume digital content store in the world serving billions of transactions daily across more than 155 countries.n

As an Engineering Manager on the ASE Commerce - Accounts team youll lead the evolution of Apples commerce ecosystem in an increasingly competitive landscape. Youll build and guide a team that develops services and application components shared across applications supporting massive scale while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and contribute to the architecture design and implementation of top-level user-visible features with an emphasis on identifying reusable components across different scenarios and domains. Manage mentor and grow a team of software engineers investing in their development setting clear expectations and providing consistent honest feedbacknParticipate actively in design reviews technical trade-off discussions and code quality standards to maintain a high engineering barnFoster a strong engineering culture that values technical excellence collaboration accountability and continuous delivery accountability owning execution against commitmentsnWork closely with recruiting to attract and retain top-tier engineering talent and build a diverse inclusive blockers and create conditions for the team to do their best worknManage team health resolve interpersonal issues and sustain a collaborative working environmentnCommunicate team progress and needs to leadership and cross-functional stakeholdersnSupport headcount planning and team growthnCollaborate with partner teams and cross-functional partners

Comfortable splitting time between hands-on coding and team leadership responsibilitiesnExperience mentoring and coaching engineers with a focus on technical growth and code qualitynInterest in growing engineering talent through 1:1s career development conversations and feedbacknDemonstrated ability to provide constructive code reviews and technical guidance to team membersnAbility to jump into debugging sessions and help unblock team membersnComfortable taking ownership and providing technical direction especially when requirements are ambiguousnStrong object-oriented design skills with experience building maintainable extensible systemsnExperience with distributed systems and microservices architecturenProven experience designing and implementing highly scalable secure RESTful web servicesnHands-on engineering skills with ability to write clean well-documented production-ready codenExperience building reusable components frameworks or libraries that provide leverage across teamsnExperience with relational databases and ORM frameworks (Hibernate JPA etc.)nStrong testing practices including unit and integration testing (JUnit Mockito etc.)nExperience working in and navigating large complex codebasesnStrong written and verbal communication skills able to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiencesnSound technical judgment with ability to make pragmatic engineering decisionsnBS in Computer Science Software Engineering or related technical fields

Experience leading large cross functional projectsnFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesnFamiliarity with Agile and Sprint Planning techniquesnExpertise with NoSQL data stores like Solr Elastic Search Redis Memcached Cassandra Voldemort with monitoring observability and debugging production systems
