Cherokee Preting is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support our government client.

Starting Salary Range for Software Engineer:$150000 $165000

Essential Functions Duties & Responsibilities:
Includes the following:
Plans conducts and coordinates software development activities.
Designs develops documents tests and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment.
Applies the appropriate standards processes procedures and tools throughout the development life cycle.
Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications information processing techniques used and information gathered from system users to develop software.
Corrects program errors prepares operating instructions compiles documentation of program development and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent output requirements input data acquisition programming techniques and controls.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory/management authority
Education Experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required: (Basic Qualifications)
Bachelors Degree in a related field with nine (9) years of related experience OR Masters Degree with seven (7) years of related experience.
Knowledge and experience developing multi-tiered or microservice applications.
Experience with at least one cloud platform. ie. AWS Azure Google.
Containerization experience (Docker Kubernetes OpenShift).
Proficiency in CI/CD tools (GitLab CI Jenkins).
Strong scripting experience.
Linux experience.
Must be a US Citizen.
This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
