Star Catcher is building the first energy grid in space to power the orbital economy.
Todays spacecraft must generate all of their own power which caps what they can do and how long they can operate. But what if they could plug into a grid the way buildings do on Earth Instead of cables and outlets Star Catcher is building the technology to wirelessly beam energy to spacecrafts existing solar panels when and where they need it.

Star Catcher Industries Inc. located in Jacksonville Florida has an opportunity for a Software Engineer to support the development of space-to-space power beaming spacecraft and the Star Catcher Network its orbital power grid.
- Use existing DevOps tools repositories development processes and collaboration workflows in daily activities.
- Apply software engineering principles to help plan estimate and decompose assigned work.
- Support development of software using C and object-oriented design principles in an embedded Linux environment.
- Support development and testing of embedded flight or ground software.
- Ensure implemented software integrates properly with the larger system baseline including interfaces and network communications.
- Communicate status accomplishments and impediments clearly in team stand-ups or check-ins.
- Develop test plans and test procedures for peer review and support test plan execution and documentation.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of software development principles data structures and one or more programming languages (e.g. Python C C).
- Familiarity with modern software development tools including compilers debuggers and version control systems such as Git.
- Willingness to learn embedded systems ground systems or space-specific software practices on the job.
- Creative problem-solving skills and eagerness to grow across the software stack.
- Coursework or personal projects involving embedded systems RTOS or ground software tooling.
- Exposure to embedded Linux development.
- Familiarity with network communications and software interface development.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python for test automation or tooling.
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using Linux shell commands and debugging tools.
- Familiarity with requirements analysis software verification and validation.
- Interest in aerospace or spaceflight systems.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work across disciplines.
