Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Translate user needs into clear software design and performance requirements.

• Develop new features improve existing capabilities and contribute to overall system enhancements.

• Debug and resolve software defects to improve reliability and performance.

• Integrate software components into new or evolving systems and environments.

• Create simple data queries and interfaces for databases and data repositories.

• Recommend improvements to documentation development standards and engineering processes.

• Design and implement algorithms that meet or exceed performance and functional expectations.

• Support the creation and execution of software test procedures.

• Write maintain and review technical documentation for software and systems.

• Investigate system workflows data usage and operational challenges to develop effective software solutions.

• Serve as a team lead when appropriate based on the projects development methodology

• Modify software to adapt to new hardware correct errors or enhance performance

• Use scientific analysis and modeling to design develop and refine software systems.

• Build complex queries and data interfaces for advanced data repositories.

• Apply strong Python skills to develop robust productionready applications.

• Develop and maintain applications capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of users.

• Apply modern AI development conceptsincluding prompt engineering context management structured outputs and tool/function callingto accelerate development.

• Build resilient scalable streamprocessing applications using modern messaging and eventstreaming platforms.

• Utilize AI coding assistants to streamline code generation refactoring debugging and automation.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

• 3 years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited institution.

• Degree substitution: Four (4) additional years of SWE experience may substitute for a bachelors degree.

Desired

• Experience with agentic workflows and multiagent orchestration.

• Background in cybersecurity or familiarity with security operations workflows.

• Experience deploying systems in AWS Cloud using Kubernetes.

• Experience with GitLab CI/CD automation.

• Handson familiarity with retrieval systems (RAG vector databases semantic search).

• Ability to analyze cybersecurityrelated data (network traffic OS events).

• Knowledge of SIGINT collection and analysis systems.

• Experience supporting production CNO capabilities and operations.

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including but not limited to geographic location Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates relevant prior work experience specific skills and competencies education and certifications.
