The team is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to focus on building the next generation of our production-facing ML platforms and improving the reliability of existing ones using AIOps. Your work will power marquee worldwide Apple experiences such as Apple Intelligence Search Siri and Private Cloud OS while also helping build new ones.

We are a production-infrastructure-facing distributed-systems team designing building and growing Apples Machine Learning platform enabling many of Apples signature apps and experiences. Our work impacts over a billion users and is essential to the success of Apples growth in AIML. As part of this role you will:nnCollaborate to solve complex ML AIOps SRE and production-infrastructure problems with the opportunity to invent innovative solutionsnEvolve the design and architecture to support the continued growth of our AI and LLM-powered Search platformnDevelop the next generation of services that power Apple Intelligence and Private Cloud with various teams across Apple to develop features and functionality to enable new experiences in the Apple ecosystem

Deliver highly reliable AIOps frameworks across ML inference fine-tuningtraining and GPU cluster workloads and productionize processes for high microservices for ML-powered search to help deliver worldwide Apple Intelligence experiences in a modular software-delivery for GPUS TPUs ASICs from the ground up. nDesign and implement monitoring covering health of hardware platforms networking fabric workload telemetry microservice health and resource utilization giving the engineering production and finance teams a view into operational health and the reliability of worldwide traffic and load balancing for Apple Intelligence.

10 years of experience building and running scalable services in public cloudsnSenior-level engineering-management experience with Search Voice-assistants AIOps ML and cluster operationsnDemonstrated track record in collecting high-level requirements translating them into pragmatic solutions and mobilizing cross-functional teams to achieve themnExperience developing and operating multi-cloud infrastructure worldwide with focus on ML-powered search and with various programming languages such as Java/Python/Go for automation or integration with multiple to continuously learn new skills and technologiesnSolid communications skills proven capability in working with cross-functional technical and business teams and varying levels of management in a professional Degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience.n

Deep understanding of Search and Voice-assistant technologies past present and track record in managing high-performance teams of expert engineersnUnderstanding of AIOps especially for the global delivery of highly-reliable highly-performant consumer-facing mastery of load-balancing observability microservice architectures security u0026 cryptography performance and reliabilitynExperience in collecting data and optimizing services for different kinds of hardwarenStrong design communication and cross-functional management skillsnProgramming Languages: Go (golang) Python and Java.
