Software Development Engineer II

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement software solutions that enable new features and improvements balancing tradeoffs across scalability maintainability performance and security.
- Contribute across the full software development lifecycle from product definition and scoping through design coding testing deployment and ongoing operations.
- Identify root causes of operational issues and drive permanent fixes continuously improving system reliability and your teams operational processes.
- Collaborate with customers stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business and customer needs ensuring the right solutions are delivered.
- Mentor and coach other engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing producing clear documentation so that your software can be maintained and extended by others.

A day in the life
You will start your day reviewing metrics and operational health for the services you own then shift into design discussions or code reviews with your teammates. Expect to spend focused time writing and testing code working through technical challenges and refining your solutions based on peer feedback. You will regularly connect with product managers to align on priorities and you may lead a deep dive into a recent operational event to ensure lasting improvements are in place.

We own Leos Tier 1 service for Leo Assets and Configs. 100 clients 100 APIs and 100 tps. It meets Leos highest security bar to operate safe constellation providing internet to customers. Our team is dedicated to building reliable scalable software that makes a meaningful difference for our customers. We value collaboration technical rigor and a commitment to continuous improvement. - 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- 1 years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
