Were seeking an experienced software development engineer to build the next generation of security services solving problems with no off-the-shelf answers. Youll develop scalable services end-to-end writing high-quality code making sound technical trade-offs and owning everything from design through production launch and operational health. Working alongside strong engineers youll influence technical direction through design reviews raise the bar in code reviews and mentor junior engineers while embedding security at every layer across a wide range of applications and services.

Key job responsibilities
Design build and operate secure scalable software services and components end-to-end from requirements and design through implementation production launch and ongoing operations
Write high-quality maintainable well-tested code and make sound technical trade-offs that balance security performance reliability and delivery speed
Own the operational health of your systems including monitoring on-call response and continuous improvement of availability and performance
Partner with teams across Amazon Worldwide Operations and Worldwide Grocery Stores to understand security needs and build automated solutions to address them
Influence technical direction through design and code reviews and help raise the engineering bar across the team
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a strong security culture and engineering best practices

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- 1 years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
