Software Development Engineer, Amazon Devices Experience Technology (DeXT)

As a Software Development Engineer on this team you will own features end-to-end across the entire shopping journey from home page to post-purchase building the systems behind virtual bundles upsell recommendations and multivariate testing that directly influence customer purchase decisions.

What youll do:
- Own features from technical design through implementation testing deployment and operational support
- Build services and tools powering personalization bundles upsells and installment options for Amazon Devices
- Drive architecture decisions for critical systems evaluating complex business and technical requirements
- Experiment with features across home page detail page post-add to cart search your orders page and Alexa for shopping
- Collaborate with product UX and data science to turn ambiguous customer problems into shipped experiments with measurable impact
- Raise the engineering bar through code reviews design discussions and mentorship of junior engineers

A day in the life
On any given day you might be designing a new personalization algorithm that surfaces the right warranty or accessory to the right customer at the right moment reviewing experiment results from an upsell feature on detail page or diving deep with data science to understand why one recommendation strategy outperforms another. Youll balance building scalable low-latency services that power real-time upsell and warranty offers with collaborating cross-functionally to define what the next high-impact experiment looks like. No two days are the same but every day your work directly influences millions of purchase decisions across Amazon Devices.

About the team
Our team is focused on helping customers discover and purchase the most relevant items that go with their devices including physical accessories companion devices warranties and digital subscriptions.

- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
