Job Summary

The Software Developer (WSCE)-Journeyman develops integrates tests and maintains software for advanced modeling and simulation systems that support military training testing and evaluation. The role involves developing C/C applications integrating software into flight simulators supporting DevOps processes working with databases and scripting languages and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance simulation platforms. Responsibilities also include reviewing code implementing real-time simulation software and contributing to software design and future system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software for advanced modeling and simulation environments.
  • Integrate software into flight simulators for pilot training.
  • Support software development integration customer training and demonstrations.
  • Design develop test and maintain C/C applications.
  • Develop software using CMake Bash Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Work within DevOps environments including automated builds testing and deployments.
  • Evaluate and review C/C source code.
  • Develop real-time software using parallel processing multithreading and inter-process communication.
  • Simulate complex environments and platforms.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement software enhancements.
  • Utilize Git Jira and other Agile development tools.
  • Support cross-platform software development.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Technology Mathematics Physics Aerospace Software Systems Electrical Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3 years of software development experience.
  • Experience with C/C CMake Bash Python scripting and databases.
  • Familiarity with Agile development tools such as Git and Jira.
  • Experience with Windows/Linux development environments is preferred.
  • Experience with modeling & simulation military systems or training environments is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain required security clearance.
