Job Summary

The Software Developer will join an Agile development team supporting the development and enhancement of applications in a fast-paced technologically evolving environment. The role will focus on backend Java development REST APIs application integration database connectivity deployment testing and collaboration with frontend and infrastructure teams.

The ideal candidate will contribute to high-quality software solutions through collaboration technical problem-solving and adoption of modern development practices. The role also involves supporting digital transformation initiatives and leveraging emerging technologies aligned with cloud and AWS best practices.

Responsibilities

Software Development

  • Develop Java APIs using Spring Boot.
  • Integrate Spring Boot applications with external third-party APIs.
  • Work with database teams to map application models to PostgreSQL tables.
  • Work with infrastructure teams to deploy codebases to web servers.
  • Write and execute unit tests on new and existing Java code.
  • Support frontend teams during integration with backend REST API calls.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions integration points and implementation architectures to improve business functionality scalability and performance.

Agile Development & Collaboration

  • Work within Agile methodologies and development practices.
  • Participate in Scrum SAFe or Kanban processes.
  • Advocate for new or improved development practices that increase software quality availability resilience and scalability.
  • Assist with creating user stories and features for existing and upcoming work.
  • Demonstrate new features and functionality to customers.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and customers to support project success.

Documentation & Technical Support

  • Provide documentation and assist with deliverables related to backend functionality and user workflows.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced developers and administrators through code reviews solution design and recommended training and development plans.
Required Qualifications
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline.
  • Strong team delivery and collaboration mindset.
  • Experience with Angular 15.
  • Experience with Git/GitLab.
  • Experience with Bootstrap.
  • Experience with Angular Material.
  • Experience with Cypress.
  • Knowledge of JIRA and/or Confluence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Scrum SAFe and Kanban.
  • AWS experience and/or knowledge.
  • Experience with Apache PDFBox.
  • Experience with JUnit.
  • Experience integrating data analytics dashboard tools.
  • Experience with data governance and management integration.
  • AWS DevOps experience and/or AWS Certified Practitioner certification.
  • Commercial or national security sector DevOps knowledge.
