Our client is seeking a Software Developer with 10 years of experience to support the development and maintenance of embedded application software for a new ground combat vehicle program. You will contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle including requirements architecture and design coding testing hardware/software integration debugging and software releases. This position is 100% onsite due to the nature of the work.
- Develop software documentation and code across vehicle domains such as board support cybersecurity displays or downloading.
- Perform software requirements analysis.
- Develop preliminary and detailed software designs using department-approved design tools and standards.
- Develop C code in accordance with established department standards and procedures.
- Develop test procedures and perform unit and functional testing of executable software.
- Perform hardware/software integration.
- Debug software issues identified throughout multiple testing phases.
- Provide development task status updates to software project leads.
- Contribute to software releases involving multiple developers.
- Interface with other departments and business units including Systems Engineering and Software Quality.
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies.
- Support continuous improvement processes and methodologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10 years of experience in a related software development role.
- Strong C development experience.
- Experience with DOS.
- Experience with Git GitLab and/or Bitbucket.
- Experience with one or more of the following: Java C# C Python or Qt.
- Experience working with mixed operating system environments such as VxWorks Linux RTOS virtualization BSPs and GVOS.
- Experience with serial and network protocols such as RS-232/422 CAN TCP/IP and UDP/IP.
- Experience with DDS Kafka or other publish/subscribe middleware.
- Experience with Agile processes and tools.
- Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
- Previous experience working in the defense industry.
- Experience with ground combat vehicle network architecture.
- Experience with GCIA MOSA SOSA or FACE.
- Familiarity with Type 1/2 hypervisors.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with IoT concepts.
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Experience with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) architectures.
- Experience with NGVA (NATO Ground Vehicle Architecture) data models.
- Experience with UKGVA (UK Ground Vehicle Architecture) data models.
- Experience with Data Distribution Service (DDS).
- Experience with UDP TCP and multicast networking.
- This position requires eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
- The contract house will hold the required clearance.
- Must be able to climb on and off work in and work around military vehicles.
- Must be able to pass an ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) test for confined-space access.
- Travel of up to 10% may be required periodically.
