Software Dev Manager, Search Relevance

Every day hundreds of millions of customers rely on Amazon Search to find the right product quicklyand the quality of those results directly shapes their shopping experience. We are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead high-impact programs within Search Relevance.

The ideal candidate should have experience delivering in a fast-paced ambiguous environment strong technical depth and a bias for action. Success in this role requires a customer-centric approach innovative thinking strong problem solving skills and effective communication across technical and business stakeholders.




Key job responsibilities
Drive the end-to-end delivery of large-scale programs that help the organization meet its long-term goals.
Hire and develop exceptional technical talent in the organization.
Partner with technical and business stakeholders to align on priorities drive consensus and deliver results at scale.
Work with science engineering product and UX design to implement scalable and efficient solutions to key customer problems in search.
Define KPIs and metrics to measure success identify areas for improvement and provide actionable updates to leadership through detailed reporting and insights.
Act as the key connection point between engineering business teams ensuring alignment effective communication and seamless execution.
Establish sustainable software development processes and best practices. Drive operational excellence and high-engineering standards on the team.

- 3 years of engineering team management experience
- 7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
