Job Summary
As a Senior Snowflake Platform Engineer you will design secure automate operate and optimize enterprise Snowflake environments across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
You will partner with Data Engineering Cloud Infrastructure Information Security & Risk and FinOps teams to deliver a secure resilient scalable and cost-efficient Snowflake platform for enterprise analytics and data workloads.
Core Responsibilities
1. Snowflake Platform Engineering: Design configure operate and govern Snowflake environments across GCP and AWS including accounts databases schemas virtual warehouses resource monitors and cloud storage integrations.
2. Security & Compliance: Implement RBAC SSO service authentication encryption masking policies secrets management audit controls and private network connectivity in partnership with Information Security & Risk.
3. Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD: Automate Snowflake provisioning and lifecycle management using Terraform Git and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions GCP Cloud Build Harness or equivalent tooling.
4. Performance & FinOps: Monitor and optimize query performance warehouse sizing and scaling resource utilization clustering where appropriate credit consumption and storage costs.
5. Reliability & Operations: Implement monitoring alerting operational runbooks incident management capacity management backup/recovery and disaster recovery practices for production Snowflake environments.
6. Platform Standards & Enablement: Develop reusable Terraform modules automation security guardrails deployment standards documentation and self-service capabilities for data engineering and analytics teams.
Required Qualifications
5 years of experience in platform engineering cloud infrastructure data platforms or software engineering including 3 years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
Strong knowledge of Snowflake administration architecture security workload management performance optimization and cost management.
