Job Summary
The role within the Subcontractor Development Group (SDG) will give you the opportunity to develop critical relationships across the organization from Marketing to Estimating Purchasing and the Project Delivery teams allowing you to gain multi-disciplinary training and exposure to the companys core functional areas. This will ensure that you have a well-rounded understanding of the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of small business purchasing plans and capacity studies
- Proactively monitor Clarks progress in achieving its small business goals and report to the SDG Senior Manager
- Verify small business certifications and support general compliance at the Federal State and Local level
- Develop and maintain a database of prospective small business subcontractors
- Support Clarks Strategic Partnership Program in McLean on-site. The program is an MBA-style 9-10 month course that provides small business owners with a foundation for sustainable growth and long-term success
- Support Small Business initiatives nationwide support process innovation and other duties as assigned
- Attend outreach events and community events as needed. Periodic travel is required in the Mid Atlantic Region
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education skills knowledge abilities and experience. Preferred qualifications include background in Data Analytics with general knowledge of the construction industry
- Passionate about working with the small business community and helping businesses grow their capacity
- Strong quantitative skills with an eye for detail and the ability to create accurate reports
- Must be proficient in Microsoft & Google Suite with an emphasis on handling large data sets in Excel
- Well-organized exceptional oral and written communication skills and strong leadership skills for engagement
- and relationship building with local businesses residents community boards civic organizations etc.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment

Clarks Subcontractor Development Group (SDG) develops and maintains relationships with small businesses across the country so that Clark can continue to support the economic development of the regions in which it operates. SDG is also responsible for in-house compliance aligning Clark with federal state and local subcontracting regulations and supports Clarks project team with work acquisition.
The work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
The Physical Side of the Role: Youll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively including conducting interviews and holding conversations with subcontractors in person at events and over the phone. The role does include desk time in the office that may require prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work document review and meetings.
Your Work Environment: You will spend time in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels and will occasionally attend industry events conferences and outreach events. Your safety is our top priority and youll be expected to follow Clark Constructions safety policies and procedures and all applicable laws at all locations.

Clark offers a total compensation package that includes base salary bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package including health/dental/vision benefits paid time off retirement/401k and Company Contribution plan. For this role the base salary range is $45000 - $140000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors including a candidates education experience skills and geographic location.
