This position performsprofessional and administrative workto assist in thedevelopmentof theSouth King Housing and Homelessness Partners (SKHHP) Program which is a coalition of King County and eleven (11) South King County Cities: Auburn Burien Covington Des Moines Federal Way Kent Maple Valley Normandy Park Renton Sea Tac Tukwila and King County. SKHHP is seeking a highly organized and collaborative professional who can balance administrative coordination stakeholder engagement and compliance oversight. The ideal candidate will independently manage governance-related workflows including agenda development meeting preparation facilitation and follow-up in support of the Executive Manager and Advisory Board.

This role will also support compliance and data management by assisting with annual reporting monitoring affordable housing requirements and maintaining systems that track property contacts tenant demographics and asset health. The successful candidate will be comfortable coordinating with public agencies monitoring projects and partnering with the Executive Manager on day-to-day administrative and organizational needs.

South King Housing and Homelessness Partners (SKHHP) is the first collaboration of local governments in South King County working to address affordable housing challenges across the region. SKHHP brings together staff from partner jurisdictions in the disciplines of land use planning human and community services economic development and housing programs. With a small staff there is room in this position to learn about and influence all aspects of the collaboration.

Primary Duties


Project Evaluation & Selection: Support the Community Advisory Board and Executive Board to evaluate and select housing capital projects for funding.

Board Management: Planning staffing and facilitating monthly meetings for the Community Advisory Board.

Compliance Monitoring: Supporting the Executive Manager in overseeing compliance for awarded SKHHP projects.

Strategic Coordination:
Collaborating with other public funders to ensure the ongoing success and alignment of the SKHHP Housing Capital Fund.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Land-Use Planning Community Development Urban Planning Public Policy Architecture Ethnic Studies or closely related field is required.
AND

  • Three years of successful work experience in a combination of: affordable housing sector; project coordination and facilitation; community outreach and engagement; policy research; and data collection and analysis;
OR

  • Any combination of education training and/or experience that would demonstrate the individuals knowledge skill and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Familiarity with South King County affordable housing policies and local governance structures.
  • Prior experience with community organizing and/or coalition building.
  • Knowledge of local housing and homelessness initiatives and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with government including experience working with elected officials and staff at the local government level.

LICENSE REQUIRED

Possess and retain valid state drivers license without impending loss at time of appointment.
