Position Summary
Delaware Valley Excavation is seeking an experienced and dependable Site Foreman to oversee daily field operations on excavation and site development projects. The Site Foreman is responsible for coordinating crews equipment materials and subcontractors while ensuring work is completed safely efficiently and according to project plans and specifications.

This position requires strong field leadership knowledge of excavation and site work and the ability to effectively communicate with project managers superintendents customers subcontractors and field personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise field crews performing excavation and site development work.
Coordinate daily jobsite activities manpower equipment materials and subcontractors.
Review project plans specifications scopes of work and daily priorities with the project team.
Plan and communicate daily work assignments to field personnel.
Ensure work is completed according to project plans specifications quality standards and schedules.
Monitor job progress and communicate production scheduling concerns delays or field issues to the Project Manager and/or Superintendent.
Maintain a safe organized and productive jobsite.
Conduct daily safety discussions and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
Ensure employees properly use required PPE and follow safe operating practices.
Coordinate equipment utilization and identify equipment or maintenance needs.
Verify materials and deliveries are appropriate for scheduled work.
Assist with layout elevations grades and interpretation of construction plans as needed.
Oversee excavation grading backfilling site preparation drainage utility and related site work activities.
Complete required daily documentation including production reports timekeeping equipment usage and jobsite records.
Monitor employee performance and provide direction coaching and training to field personnel.
Communicate professionally with customers inspectors subcontractors vendors and other project stakeholders.
Identify potential project issues early and work with management to develop practical solutions.
Protect company equipment materials and other assets assigned to the project.
Perform additional duties as required to support successful project completion.

Qualifications

Previous experience in excavation site development heavy civil construction or a related field required.
Previous foreman or field leadership experience strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of excavation grading drainage utilities site preparation and general earthwork operations.
Ability to read and understand construction plans specifications and project documentation.
Strong understanding of construction safety practices and jobsite requirements.
Ability to effectively lead and coordinate field crews.
Strong communication organization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment and adjust to changing project conditions.
Ability to operate or understand the operation of excavation and heavy construction equipment.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.
OSHA training and other applicable certifications preferred.
