Description:

Shuttle Bus Operations

Safely drives a shuttle van to transport employees patients and visitors from designated parking areas to and from the hospital campus.

Performs inspections and ensures proper care of vehicles and equipment. Notifies supervisor of anticipated repair needs as appropriate.

Records accurate number of riders and trips throughout shift.

Uses a mobile phone to appropriately communicate with hospital employees and riders.

Assists riders in entering and exiting shuttle vehicle.

Provides courteous service and communicates effectively by providing hospital information and directions as requested.

Provides support to the Guest Services department outside of shuttle transfers.

Required:

Valid Michigan drivers license

1-2 years driving experience

Clean driving record with the ability to meet hospital insurance requirements

Ability to pass background check drug screening and health clearance as required by hospital policy

Knowledge of basic vehicle safety and operation procedures

Ability to follow schedules and work independently

Ability to physically assist employees patients and visitors into and out of a vehicle.

Maintains satisfactory driving technique.

Preferred:

Previous shuttle bus or commercial driving experience.

Knowledge of local traffic patterns arterial roads and navigating high traffic urban environments.

Experience providing customer service in a healthcare or public-facing environment.

CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
