POSITION SCOPE
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership to hourly team members at the Caldwell Plant on a rotating-shift basis. Key areas of focus include safety crew development productivity quality reliability cost control and team engagement. The Operations consists of the following manufacturing areas: Laminating Slitting Converting Shipping and Maintenance. The Shift Supervisor is a critical leadership position in the organization. The position has direct responsibility for approximately 20 employees per shift in a union environment in multiple manufacturing areas. Success relies on the Supervisors ability to understand and improve current processes build relationships and fully engage all crew members in business improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven leadership skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Previous manufacturing leadership experience required.
Experience in Laminating/Converting operations processes strongly preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook is required.
Lean/Continuous Improvement and Quality Management Systems experience required.
Experience in reading and understanding product specifications.
EDUCATION
Associates or Bachelors degree in a operations management engineering industrial technology or equivalent successful manufacturing management experience required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely lead crew of operating personnel on a rotating-shift basis in Laminating Slitting Converting Shipping and Maintenance areas.
Manage employee safety.
Utilize available line speed targets set up time guidelines efficiency logs and process data collection tools to improve productivity.
Manage product quality by understanding and communicating customer needs to crews and insuring expectations are consistently met.
Improve equipment availability and reliability.
Utilize Lean/Six Sigma methodologies for processes related to management of the plant floor.
Attend annual GMP and HACCP Training Sessions.
Is aware of our food safety policy and programs.
Upholds and enforces GMP and HACCP Principals.

A successful Shift Supervisor must have strong interpersonal skills effective communication skills and be able to successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing work environment.
