Job Summary
YWCA Dayton a 24-hour organization dedicated to the elimination of racism and the empowerment of women seeks an energetic dedicated professional to join our team. The Shelter Services Manager is an exempt salaried position working 40 hours weekly including occasional evenings and weekends as needed. The Shelter Services Manager reports to the Director of Data and Compliance and is responsible for the daily operation of shelter services supervision of Shelter Navigators and coordination of resident support activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shelter Operations and Program Management: Oversee day-to-day shelter operations ensure implementation of policies and trauma-informed services and support quality improvement efforts.
- Staff Supervision and Development: Directly supervise Shelter Navigators provide coaching complete evaluations and coordinate schedules.
- Coordinated Entry and Data Compliance: Oversee Coordinated Entry activities monitor HMIS documentation and compliance and assist with audits and reporting requirements.
- Resident Services and Advocacy: Support crisis intervention resident advocacy and housing-focused service delivery.
- Collaboration and Community Engagement: Maintain partnerships and represent YWCA Dayton in assigned community meetings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises Shelter Navigators and designated shelter staff.
- Responsible for scheduling performance management corrective action onboarding and development.

- Trauma-Informed Service Delivery: Demonstrates an understanding of trauma and applies trauma-informed principles that promote safety trust empowerment and respect.
- Leadership and Staff Development: Provides effective supervision coaching accountability and professional development for staff.
- Data and Compliance Awareness: Ensures compliance with HMIS Coordinated Entry documentation confidentiality and funding requirements.
- Resident-Centered Advocacy: Promotes self-determination and equitable access to housing safety stability and resources.
- Crisis Management and Problem Solving: Responds effectively to crises using sound judgment and practical solutions.
- Communication and Collaboration: Builds productive relationships through clear respectful and professional communication.
- Organizational and Operational Excellence: Manages priorities efficiently while ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in social work Human Services Psychology Criminal Justice Sociology or related field required.
- Minimum three years of relevant human services experience and one year of supervisory experience.
- HMIS and Coordinated Entry experience preferred.
