Service Operation Technician 3

Primary Function of Position

The primary objective for this person is to have the ability to work on a variety of products meeting quality and productivity goals within Manufacturing and Service environments. This person will work closely with fellow team members and management to achieve team performance goals for troubleshooting testing repairs equipment maintenance and MRB evaluation services meeting Quality and Productivity goals within manufacturing and service. This person will play a significant role in the areas of Efficiency First Pass Yield Hours Reporting Accuracy Scrap Inventory Accuracy and Time Lost Accuracy.  Goals will be set within each review period and performance will be measured against them.

Essential Job Duties

• Assemble a variety of products according to standard work instructions and prints.
• Operate and set up (as needed) production equipment/fixtures.
• Become proficient at multiple assembly tasks while meeting requirements for workmanship safety and productivity.
• Perform preparation work such as line clearance setting up production boards and setting up goals for each workstation.                               
• Crosstrain or mentor others in areas of expertise (as needed).
• Properly complete manufacturing documentation.  Initiate basic material requests report quality issues report efficiency and record measurements as needed.  May report work order information into the computer.   
• Maintain the accuracy of identification and count of point-of-use materials.  Accurately determine and report material shortages.
• Work closely with Engineering and Quality to resolve production issues and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Support various Lean Manufacturing initiatives that involve a manufacturing-based team.
• Review and disposition of discrepant material.  Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences.
• Evaluate designs for manufacturability (for tooling and assembly methods).  Provide suggested change proposals or tooling concepts during the early design process phase to Engineering.
• Follow all corporate regulatory safety and production policies and procedures.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record.

Qualifications :

Required Skills Experience Education and Training

• Effective use of troubleshooting and measurement equipment like oscilloscopes multi-meters function generators and custom test platforms
• Understand wiring diagrams schematics assembly drawings fab drawings and mechanical component drawings
• Document findings of investigation in quality notifications which are part of official Device History Records.
• Electronic and Mechanical assembly skills (Examples: soldering crimping box build fiber handling optical component handling cable routing use of RTV/epoxy)
• Working knowledge of computers word processing and spreadsheet applications for documentation and data presentation.
• Ability to read/modify test scripts
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a variety of technologies that allow effective troubleshooting. Examples: Digital and Analog Electronics components optical components servo components machined parts sheet metal parts cable assemblies
• Good communication skills to be able to partner effectively with production techs supervisors training department as well as Mfg./Design/Test Engineers.
• A sense of urgency and Multi-tasking are essential to be able to support the production line effectively.
• BS preferred minimum High school diploma and AA or equivalent; minimum 5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be an Intuitive Tech 3or Tech 4 in good standing for at least the past 12 months or as determined by the area Production Manager.  Areas that will be considered are attendance conduct productivity teamwork and quality.
• Must have good communication and documentation skills.
• Prior team leadership demands
• Experience in Just-In-Time Demand flow technology and Lean Manufacturing
• Prior responsibility for process equipment or product validation/verification.
• Hands-on assembly technician with proven ability to work well in a small team environment.
• Must have problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Self-starter and motivated to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices & Quality Systems Regulations is desirable.
• Ability to perform repetitive duties while standing/ sitting for long periods
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

This position may be filled at a different job level than listed here depending on
business need and/or on the selected candidates experience knowledge and skills.
Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidates qualifications consistent with applicable law.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives benefits and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience skills and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
