At Doug Smith Subaru we are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Main Shop Service Advisor to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people has strong communication skills and wants a position where their performance can have a significant impact on their income.

Our Service Advisors are the primary connection between our customers and technicians. Youll help customers from the time they schedule their appointment through the completion of their repairs making sure they understand whats happening with their vehicle and that our technicians have the information they need to do their job effectively.

A big part of this position is communication. Youll talk with customers to understand their concerns ask questions to gather the right information and document those concerns accurately on the repair order. Youll then work with our technicians throughout the repair process to make sure concerns are understood and addressed.

As technicians inspect and diagnose vehicles youll review their findings and recommendations and communicate those back to the customer. Youll prepare estimates explain recommended repairs and maintenance obtain authorization and coordinate with the technician and parts department to keep repairs moving.

Youll also help customers schedule service provide updates while their vehicle is in the shop review completed repairs prepare final invoices collect payment and help get customers back on the road.

As a Subaru dealership there are also important administrative responsibilities. Youll collect and document the information needed for Subaru warranty claims and work with aftermarket service contract companies to obtain repair authorization and coverage when applicable. Accurate documentation and attention to detail are important parts of doing this job well.

Were looking for someone who can build relationships with customers while also keeping up with a busy service department.

Strong communication and organization are important. You should be comfortable discussing repair recommendations and costs with customers managing multiple repair orders at different stages and following through on the details that keep everything moving.

Automotive service or dealership experience is preferred and previous Service Advisor experience is a plus. Subaru experience is helpful but isnt required. Were willing to invest in someone who has the right attitude communication skills and desire to learn.

Most importantly were looking for someone who takes ownership of their customers and repair orders and works well as part of a team.

Our advisors work a primarily MondayFriday schedule with a rotating Saturday approximately once every four weeks. When you work your scheduled Saturday youll take a day off during the week. Typically Monday so youll also get a 3 day weekend before your Saturday shift.

This rotation allows us to provide Saturday coverage without requiring our advisors to work every weekend.

This is primarily a commission-based position with a base salary so there is significant earning potential based on individual performance.

We would expect a successful Service Advisor to earn at least $50000 annually with strong-performing advisors having the opportunity to earn $100000 per year.

Your income is largely driven by your performance giving motivated advisors the opportunity to directly influence what they earn.
