Responsible for the custody and discipline of detainees in the facility in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

What you will do

• Assign work schedules protect instruct train counsel and provide feedback for evaluation of assigned employees.
• Responsible for the care custody and adherence to rules and regulations of detainees assigned to specific work area.
• Supervise and direct searches for contraband and provide security. Required to perform pat and strip searches by squatting and bending to perform such functions as needed. Required to climb ladders or stairs in search of contraband.
• Supervise and provide custody and security of detainees including observation of detainees and detainees assigned to work duty which includes long periods of sitting and standing.
• Required to make rounds of the facility which requires long periods of walking.
• Read review and properly apply information found in detainees records which is related to the detainees health and safety and to the security of the facility. Provide appropriate information to other personnel.
• Supervise the preparation and maintenance of records forms and reports.
• Perform specific duties if assigned to the following areas: unit special housing unit security threat groups intake and transportation.
• May be assigned to housing RHU intake or transportation.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts and work all post assignments.

What you will need

• High school diploma or GED minimum of two (2) years experience in an adult correctional or detention facility environment or related field
• At least 21 years of age and a US Citizen or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.
• Must successfully complete required preservice training.
• Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record required unless waived by management.
