Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for pursuing new business and managing an existing book of renewal business in our Management Liability portfolio focusing on privately held and nonprofit companies which includes Directors & Officers Employment Practices Fiduciary Liability and Crime coverage lines.
  • Underwrite rate and service new and renewal submissions and participate in client meetings as required.
  • Develop and maintain agency and broker relationships with retailers and wholesalers across the west region meeting department service standards.
  • Negotiate with brokers within the limits of delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards to achieve profit objectives.
  • Develop a working knowledge of other Starr products to facilitate cross sale of those products where applicable.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of Private/Nonprofit Company D&O underwriting or related insurance experience
  • Preferred experience in underwriting of Private Equity Portfolio Companies
  • Experience and relationships with Financial Lines brokers throughout the Northeast territory
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Detail oriented; Attention to quality/accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow efficiently
  • Professional demeanor in verbal and written communications internally and externally
  • Proficient in MS Outlook Excel Word and similar applications

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $130000 - $150000.
