Senior Telecom Engineer Utilities

Job Summary
- Lead planning scoping design and implementation of multiplexer replacement and migration programs.
- Develop long-term telecom strategies and migration roadmaps.
- Prepare engineering and design packages specifications and construction documentation.
- Support cost estimating budgeting and project alternative analysis.
- Participate in RFP evaluations vendor selection and bid reviews.
- Provide Owners Engineering services including design reviews construction support commissioning oversight and field inspections.
- Develop communication-assisted protection and control solutions compliant with NPCC requirements.
- Create and review fiber optic splice diagrams and analyze OTDR test results.
- Support feasibility studies technical reviews conceptual designs contract drawings and scope development.
- Collaborate with project teams clients vendors and stakeholders throughout project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
- 10-15 years of experience supporting utility telecommunications or electrical infrastructure projects.
- 7 years of engineering leadership or project engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading major multiplexer replacement or migration programs.
- Experience developing strategic telecommunications roadmaps and deployment plans for electric and gas utilities.
- Knowledge of utility telecommunications systems WAN transport networks and fiber optic communications.
- Experience supporting Protection & Control SCADA automation and communication-assisted relaying systems.
- Familiarity with NPCC Directory 4 ISO-NE OP-18 C37.94 Mirrored Bits and DTT applications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and utility drawing management processes.
- Strong communication collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented self-motivated and committed to continuous learning.

- Fiber splice design and OTDR trace analysis

Benefits & Salary:
- This position pays between $130000 and $155000 annually and is an exempt position.
- Benefits offered include company sponsored medical dental vision and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement voluntary life disability critical illness accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
- Full time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours.
- May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
