Job Description Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Application Engineer to support the technical sales strategy and lead the technical evaluation of conventional nuclear controls upgrade opportunities contributing to growth of orders and opportunity pipeline for nuclear controls in GE Vernovas Software & Control Solutions business. This role is responsible for the detailed technical review of customer specifications requests for proposals and supporting the definition of standardized offerings for nuclear controls upgrades for non-safety related applications in steam turbine balance of plant and generator controls.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support pre-sales technical discussions with customers for strategic deal development; providing technical insight on GEV products and services for nuclear controls collecting voice of customer responding to technical inquiries on GEV submitted proposals conducting site surveys of existing systems presenting case studies/demos/product solutions at industry user conferences and providing feedback to the businesss commercial and product management organizations on control solutions that meet the customer needs in the nuclear market.
  • Actively listen understand and interpret customers business goals operating objectives and control system risks and customize GE Vernova SCS solutions to best meet their needs.
  • Research and understand competitors regional value propositions and go to market approaches and support development of winning sales and solutions strategies.
  • Become regional reference point for technical queries regarding the Nuclear Industry for the Controls productline establishing relationshipswith key customers.
  • Lead amulti-disciplinary application teamsto respond to customer technical specifications for conventional nuclearnon-safety relatedcontrols upgrades including;steamturbinecontrolsbalance ofplantcontrols(such asfeedwaterlevelcontrols)generator excitation controlsHMI/network/cybersecuritymechanicalinstrumentationandcontrolslifecycleapplications.
  • Coordinate with Controls Engineering Technical Leaders and Product Design Owners to develop clear compliant and competitive technical responses to customer inquiries. Defining engineering effort and material requirements to achieve customer expectations and nuclear industry standards for qualityaligned with our engineering manufacturingand product capabilities.
  • OwntheTechnical Application Guidedefinitionfornuclearcontrols applications;creating andmaintainingTechnical Application Guides (TAGs)which define standards for engineering design effort material/hardware definition technical proposal language for standard products and overall technical quoting limits.
  • Support the commercialization of new product designs for nuclear controls applications creating or revising TAGs to support the quotation of new products/applications.
  • Support continuous improvement of Technical Application Guides by engaging inproject reviews with commercial project management engineering and field service teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree inElectrical MechanicalNuclear Engineeringor related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry work experience with control system applications or controls project execution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the nuclear industry.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to30% of the time.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience supporting nuclear power plant modernization orcontrol system upgrade projects.
  • Experience in plant operations and control system design for conventional nuclear power plant systems including turbine-generator feedwatersystems (pumps heaters level-control) steam generator plant computer plant simulator etc.
  • Knowledge of relevant nuclear quality safety and regulatory expectations.
  • GE Vernova MarkVIe/EX2100eControl System knowledge and experience.
  • Significant experience in technical application/proposalengineering.
  • Strong understanding of control system architecture instrumentation HMI systemscyber securityand integration principles.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and develop practical engineering responses balancing standard solutions with project specific requirements.
  • High attention to detail in technical proposal development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal technical and commercial teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet agreed-upon goals and measurements.
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix management environment.
  • Experience interfacing with all levels of internal and external customers. Strong influence facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong process discipline with sound analytical skills.
  • Strong technical judgment and problem-solving ability
  • Comfort working across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position the pay range for this position is between $131700.00 and $219300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110% 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
