What Youll Do:


As the Senior Systems Engineer you will provide systems engineering expertise supporting NAVAIRs Direct and Time Sensitive Strike Weapons Program Office (PMA-242). You will support systems engineering requirements development systems integration technical reviews risk management and lifecycle engineering activities for complex weapon systems and related capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering program management test fleet and industry stakeholders to support the development and integration of advanced DoD capabilities.


PMA-242 is based at NAS Patuxent River MD. Travel to this location may be required. For candidates interested in relocating to Maryland relocation to the area is also an option.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs) requirements development system architecture risk management and configuration management activities.
  • Conduct gap analyses aligned with warfighter needs to deliver traceable capability requirements for current and future weapons roadmaps.
  • Guide requirements definition capability roadmapping and integration planning for emerging DoD strike weapons.
  • Coordinate with developmental and operational test communities intelligence organizations program offices NAVAIR JPO industry partners and fleet/combat air forces.
  • Lead risk assessment activities related to aircraft and system-of-systems integration.
  • Serve as a primary technical interface with fleet users OPNAV sponsors contractors platform PMAs weapons safety boards and joint service partners.
  • Some travel to the NAS Patuxent River MD-based program office may be required.

Requirements

What Youll Bring:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in systems engineering aerospace engineering mechanical engineering electrical engineering computer engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 8 years of systems engineering experience supporting complex systems preferably within the DoD aerospace defense or other highly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with systems engineering processes including requirements development systems integration technical reviews risk management and/or configuration management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting weapons systems aircraft systems or other complex military systems.
  • Experience with DoD acquisition programs and familiarity with DoD 5000-series guidance.
  • Experience with NAVAIR Navy Marine Corps or other DoD programs.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD environments aircraft/weapon integration or systems certification processes.

Security Clearance Requirement:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

  • The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $170000 - $185000 commensurate with an individuals experience qualifications and skill set. ASEC is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation.
