Senior Systems Engineer

MBSE Requirements Engineering

Onsite in Huntsville AL Schedule: 9x80

We are hiring a Senior Systems Engineer supporting complex defense systems engineering Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) requirements management system architecture integration and verification activities. This role requires an active Secret security clearance U.S. citizenship 15 years of experience and expertise with MBSE tools such as Cameo and DOORS requirements decomposition and maturity system design and full software lifecycle environments.

This role supports requirements analysis system architecture technical documentation systems engineering management planning integration and test planning and technical leadership across the product lifecycle. Experience with Atlassian tools Jira Confluence Git CI/CD pipelines and safety-critical or nuclear-critical software development standards such as DO-178C DO-330 and AFMAN 91-119 is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documentation and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
  • Analyze decompose mature and manage system requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Lead system design and development activities based on established system requirements.
  • Guide users in defining and refining requirements evaluating alternative technical approaches and conducting feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements system design and technology.
  • Incorporate new plans designs technologies and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation system architecture and system design documentation.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through the assessment or preparation of Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs) and system integration and test plans.
  • Collaborate with the Product Team on systems engineering requirements designs integration activities and other technical considerations.
  • Maintain technical integrity and accountability for systems engineering work products and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active Secret security clearance is required.
  • Bachelors degree in a technical field.
  • 15 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies including Cameo and DOORS.
  • Experience with requirements management requirements decomposition and requirements maturity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines including pipeline setup scripting and configuration.
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle including specification design implementation integration debugging and maintenance.
  • Experience with safety-critical and nuclear-critical software development standards and environments including DO-178C DO-330 and AFMAN 91-119.
  • Familiarity with structured process-driven software development environments including peer reviews revision control defect tracking and release/build practices.
  • Experience with Git-based version control products.
