What we are looking for
SCS Engineers is looking for a Project Engineer to join our 100% employee-owned firm and start creating your own legacy within our Operations Monitoring and Maintenance (OMM) Division!
- In this position you will serve clients diverse project needs embrace teamwork and have the desire to develop professionally.
- You will be involved in managing projects developing proposals and will also be directly involved with public and private clients in marketing client management and project production.
- Responsibilities include project management business development and staff training.
- Project responsibility will have a primary focus on solid waste management including landfill gas composting and other projects which may require design engineering permitting construction and operations support.
- You will report to a Regional Manager/Vice President. We prefer that you are based in our Santa Maria location.
How you can make an impact
- Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in solid waste assignment areas and related fields.
- Prepare engineering calculations drawings reports and permit applications.
- Manage projects and personnel to meet both client and SCS expectations.
- Makes decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods plans and coordinate work and represent us at meetings and conferences.
- Field work in varied terrain and weather will be required including surveys/data gathering construction quality assurance inspections etc.
- Office-based tasks including: CAD drafting mathematical calculations report writing creating site plans and facility diagrams permit applications etc.
- Business development including : proposal preparation meeting with clients and attending industry related conferences/trade shows.
- Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant civil or environmental experience required. Consulting experience business specific to the solid waste industry including landfill gas management air compliance and landfill design and permitting etc. preferred.
- Valid drivers license with a driving record in good standing required.
Pay Range
USD $40.00 - USD $50.00 /Hr.
