We are looking for a strong Senior Java Software Engineer to implement new features and maintain KAYAKs world-leading platform. We are seeking for people who love working with data - parsing analyzing investigating interpreting modeling and extracting knowledge from large volumes of data. Good candidates will have a passion in processing data to help drive better business decisions or to develop new features in a fast-paced environment where many small and diverse projects are the norm.

This role will be required to work from our Concord MA office at least 3 days per week.

• Extract data from databases write scripts to parse clean combine and process them

• Communicate with APIs via REST or SOAP interfaces.

• Configure enterprise applications for large customers.

• Develop tools to assist in the debugging of existing products.

• Build and maintain high-performance integrations with third-party APIs (airlines hotel and rentalcars providers)

• Take full ownership of your designs: from initial concept to deployment while maintaining high standards for code quality and performance

• Participate in code reviews and architectural steering to ensure the K4B project remains modular and reusable as KAYAK expands its enterprise footprint

• 6-8 years of experience with Java programming

• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals data structures algorithms and software design

• Ability to work independently and with a team

• Good communication skills for sharing ideas clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues

• Experience with relational databases like MySQL or Oracle

• Prior experience in the travel domain is beneficial

• Experience with B2B systems or identity/HR integrations is beneficial e.g. SCIM SAML/OAuth SSO user provisioning/deprovisioning and connecting HRIS/IDP platforms (Workday Okta Active Directory) to product services.

• Experience with the following:

  • Unix shell scripting

  • Spring & Mybatis frameworks

  • DOM and using XPath JQuery & CSS

  • API development using REST Web Service SOAP etc

  • Machine Learning

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range including but not limited to external market benchmark data geographic location and years of experience sought/required. The range for this Massachusetts based role is $00 not inclusive of annual bonus and recurring RSU grants.
