Senior Software Engineer CoreAI (Foundry Observability)

Microsoft Foundry Observability team within CoreAI builds observability evaluation and optimization that span core AI capabilities including model inferencing AI services model customization and agentic solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer you will build and evolve largescale cloud native systems that span the full lifecycle of advanced agentic applications from secure enterprise deployment and governed tool integration to finetuning and training workflows to observability evaluation and optimization in production. Your work will directly contribute to how developers and enterprises build reliable autonomous and highimpact AI agents.

Across the organization you will:

• Lead the design development and delivery of large-scale AI services and platforms with a focus on scalability reliability security and performance.

• Design and implement distributed systems and cloud services to run agents reliably at enterprise scale

• Drive innovation in observability automation deployment safety and operational efficiency through reusable platforms and frameworks.

• Improve developer and researcher workflows through better tooling abstractions and automation across finetuning evaluation and optimization

• Debug and optimize interactions across models data and infrastructure

• Contribute to technical design and implementation across the software development lifecycle

• Maintain high standards for code quality testing reliability and operational excellence

• Collaborate closely with partner teams across CoreAI and Azure to deliver productionready platform capabilities.

You will contribute to a dynamic engineering culture through thoughtful design discussions code reviews and collaboration across teams. Youll have the opportunity to grow your technical scope while helping to build the platforms that enable intelligent agent systems at scale.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including but not limited to C C C# Java JavaScript or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
    

Additional/Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including but not limited to C C C# Java JavaScript or Python OR Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8 years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including but not limited to C C C# Java JavaScript or Python OR equivalent experience.

• 5 years technical engineering experience designing and delivering highly available large-scale cloud services and distributed systems.

• Demonstrated proficiency around leveraging AI to build systems and a passion to make this technology accessible to everyone

• 3 years of technical engineering experience with machine learning or AI systems
