Avandra Imagings mission is to unlock clinical data to overcome previously impossible medical challenges bringing hope and medical breakthroughs that transform patient lives. Avandra is poised to revolutionize healthcare research and innovation by creating the largest indexed data cloud of medical imaging. This platform will unlock unprecedented access to real-world imaging data essential for biopharma research medical device innovation AI model training and improved patient care.

Leveraging its strategic acquisitions Avandra aims to aggregate and de-identify vast amounts of imaging data providing frictionless access to this invaluable resource. With a national footprint of over 5000 customer integrations and a market share of approximately 70% this robust infrastructure supports their core business ensuring continued growth and cash flow to fuel their innovative data cloud platform.

As a Senior Software Engineerhelp build and scale a category-defining healthcare data platform and you will have experience in Elixir and/or Python. You will play a critical role in designing developing and maintaining the systems that power our imaging data marketplace and enable healthcare innovation at scale.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on builder who thrives in an early-stage environment enjoys solving complex technical problems and takes ownership of outcomes. Beyond technical expertise were looking for someone who embraces collaboration continuous learning and helping cultivate a positive engineering culture.

• Design develop test and maintain scalable software applications using Elixir and Python.
• Build and support both early-stage and mature production systems that power Avandras imaging data platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term platform strategy.

• Take ownership of projects from concept through deployment and ongoing support.
• Lead technical initiatives with minimal supervision while driving high-quality outcomes.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices code quality and development standards.
• Help establish scalable processes and frameworks that support company growth.

• Identify opportunities to improve system performance reliability and scalability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the engineering stack.
• Contribute to a culture of experimentation learning and technical excellence.
• Support a startup mindset by flexing across functions and helping solve challenges wherever needed.

• 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience building and deploying production-grade applications using Elixir and/or Python.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles design patterns and development best practices.
• Experience developing and maintaining scalable distributed systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Demonstrated ability to independently drive projects and manage competing priorities.
• Passion for continuous learning and staying current with evolving technologies.

Preferred

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Previous experience mentoring engineers or serving in a technical leadership capacity.
• Experience working within healthcare technology health data medical imaging or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with data-intensive applications APIs and large-scale platform development.
