Senior Software Development Engineer, Ads AI Core Infra

Ads AI Core Infra (ACI) organization owns services supporting many functions across the advertising lifecycle like Accounts Permissions Campaign Management Builder Productivity Analytics and Availability and Quality Assurance etc. Our top focus areas are to innovate on behalf of our customers support partner business launches and improve our engineering systems for feature velocity availability performance and scale. This role will see you collaborate with a large number of teams across WW Advertising to drive key initiatives to improve resilience of advertising systems.

Youll become part of a highly motivated team of talented multi-functional builders (front and backend developers) who can collaborate with product managers technical specialists and principals across the company. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity thats higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that havent been solved at scale before - anywhere. You will encounter challenging novel situations every day and given the size of this initiative youll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. Key Technical Challenges:
This role will provide critical support to 2 Advertising wide cross-cutting charters - Builder Productivty and Service Availability.

Builder Productivity: The team owns global Advertising wide charter to improve organization wide development velocity. This role will enable Builders across the organization deliver products and features to our customers faster while ensuring highest quality by building AI powered tools and mechanisms at the enterprise scale while also functioning as a champion with deep understanding of emerging GenAI innovations and depth or software product delivery lifecycle workflows.

Service availability: This role will provide critical support to the Global Ads Availability team that owns Ads wide Availability framework and critical service infrastructure that forms the backbone of Ad serving enabled across multiple regions and Availability Zones. It is critical to ensure that this framework remains highly available. High Availability architecture will help us make sure that the system is configured to handle different loads and different failures with minimal or no downtime.

Key job responsibilities
- Engage with key stakeholders such as Product Program Managers Senior Managers to understand customer business requirements and brainstorm on solutions. Drive tech strategy and decision making.
- Apply your technical expertise to solve complex software problems in a fast-paced environment
- Strategize design and launch services for medium-to-large scale projects across all areas of this Spektr Data lake core components. All with the goal of delivering a seamless experience to the customer.
- Provide guidance to and mentor other SDEs in the team. Ensure testability maintainability and low operational footprint for the team.
- Participate in operational responsibilities with your team and ensure clear and accurate business metrics and operational metrics.

- 6 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 6 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 6 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 6 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
