THIS IS A SECONDED ROLE LOCATED ON-SITE AT A CLIENT FACILITY IN LANCASTER CALIFORNIA
The Senior Project Manager provides strategic leadership and direction for the successful delivery of underground mining projects serving as a key Worley representative embedded within a client organization in Lancaster California. This role is seconded to the client and is responsible for supporting project execution ensuring alignment with Worley and client objectives contractual commitments and project delivery requirements.
Working closely with client stakeholders contractors and multidisciplinary teams the Senior Project Manager oversees project planning execution risk management and performance while ensuring excellence in safety quality schedule and cost outcomes. The role requires strong underground mining execution experience leadership skills and the ability to operate effectively within a client-facing environment.
Purpose
To lead and support the execution of complex underground mining projects while serving in a secondment capacity at a client facility in Lancaster California. The Senior Project Manager acts as an integrated member of the clients project team providing project leadership execution oversight risk management and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Define and manage project scope objectives schedule productivity and budget.
- Oversee the execution of studies and projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes standards and customer requirements.
- Coordinate multidiscipline teams and resources to achieve project goals efficiently.
Health Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Champion a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across all project activities.
- Lead by example in applying Safety by Design Constructability and Maintainability principles.
- Ensure all team members comply with Worley and client HSE standards.
Technical & Quality Oversight
- Provide technical direction across engineering procurement and project delivery functions.
- Review and validate study deliverables for technical accuracy and quality.
- Drive innovation and best practices to improve project performance and outcomes.
Financial Management
- Establish and maintain project budgets forecasts and cost controls.
- Monitor project financials track performance and report on progress and variances.
- Contribute to proposal development estimating and business case reviews.
Execution Planning & Performance
- Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan (PEP).
- Track performance against milestones KPIs and deliverables.
- Implement corrective and recovery actions as required.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong trust-based relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary interface for project communications progress updates and issue resolution.
- Ensure client KPIs and objectives are understood monitored and achieved.
Risk & Opportunity Management
- Identify and assess project risks early in the lifecycle.
- Maintain a current risk register and develop mitigation and contingency strategies.
- Proactively identify opportunities to add value or enhance project delivery.

What You Will Bring
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the mining minerals and metals industry OR similar industry experience including at least 12 years in project management supervisory or technical leadership roles overseeing multidisciplinary engineering or study projects.
- Strong background in underground mining projects with demonstrated experience supporting project execution construction commissioning or operational readiness activities within active mining environments.
- Proven experience in Front-End Studies & Advisory Concept/Select Consulting PFS FS and NI 43-101 or SK-1300 reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Teams).
- Experience with workshare and engineering procurement (EP) project environments.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced degree or professional certification in project management or engineering.
- Professional registration (PE CPEng or equivalent).
- Certification from recognized project management bodies (PMI APM IPMA or AIPM).
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Mining regulatory or MSHA certification and experience.
