Senior Project Manager Interior Architecture

AECOM is seeking an experienced highly organized Interior Architecture Senior Project Manager for our New York City NY office.

AECOMs Buildings Places business line is dedicated to design excellence and integrated project delivery solutions with expertise including architecture interiors engineering development workplace strategy economic planning master planning project management and construction services. Our New York Metro BP Interiors AECOMs studio provides industry-leading design projects in commercial financial institutions corporate interiors and pharmaceutical office spaces.

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for running multiple projects of various sizes from conceptualization design construction through close out.  This role selects leads and mentors the Interior Architecture and Interior Design project team while working closely with all of the interdisciplinary teams.  Additionally there is a heavy client communication/relationship component involved in the role.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Plans directs and leads technical staff in successful execution of projects in design and construction
• Acts as primary point of contact with client and manage the relationship with all stakeholders
• Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects.
• Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects
• Manages projects on a local regional or national basis achieving quality outcomes positive financial performance and client satisfaction.
• Successfully develops strategy prepares proposals negotiates contracts leads project teams and executes projects
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/subcontractors for the flawless execution of projects
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time within scope and within budget
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Develop and monitor a detailed project plan to track progress and identify shortfalls in a timely manner
• Manage changes to the project scope project schedule and project costs to minimize risk
• Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
• Report and escalate to management as needed
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
• Identify new business opportunities and support marketing efforts

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Architecture or Interior Design plus eight (8) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10 years of progressively responsible experience with Architecture and Interior Design multidisciplinary teams on project deliverables and business development is strongly preferred
• Experience in implementing design quality assurance and quality control activities
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated team-building ability and internal/ external networking skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Proven organizational skills with a proven track record in client satisfaction while meeting deliverables and deadline requirements
• Internally driven self-starter team orientated
• Experience working on tenant improvement projects of various sizes and complexity
• Professional Registration in Architecture or Interior Design
• Project Management Professional certification (PMP)
